About Overview and scrutiny
Overview and scrutiny committees ensure that decision makers within the council are held accountable. They help in strategic policy development, drive improvement in public Âé¶¹¸ßÇå, and ensure that the voice of the public is heard.
There are seven overview and scrutiny committees in Âé¶¹¸ßÇå, which are structured to cover every aspect of the city council’s work. They ensure cabinet members are accountable for the decisions they make, and for the Âé¶¹¸ßÇå being delivered across the city. The Health and Adult Social Care, Overview and Scrutiny Committee also oversees health issues and looks at the work of the NHS in Âé¶¹¸ßÇå and across the West Midlands.
