Revoking Order
The Traffic Enforcement Centre will send a Revoking Order in the following situations:
- witness statement was made within 21 days of the Order of Recovery
- an application to make a witness statement out of time was made and was successful
Important: a Revoking Order does not cancel the original Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), so the fine still stands.
Next steps
The next steps depend on which grounds the witness statement was made.
If the witness statement was made because the Notice to owner or PCN wasn’t received, a new PCN will be sent. The named keeper will then have 28 days to either pay the fine or formally challenge it.
If the witness statement was made for any other reason, we will send a letter giving you the opportunity to pay the penalty charge. If the payment is not made, the case will be sent to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, and you may be asked for more information.
