Population overview
Â鶹¸ßÇå has a growing population of older people. By the year 2040, the total population aged 65 and over is expected to rise by 29% to 194,100. This is compared to 150,600 in 2020 showing a population growth of 43,500. The expected rise in older people may mean a higher demand for health and social care Â鶹¸ßÇå, therefore it is vital that more is done to prevent the occurrence of health conditions earlier in the 50s, so that people remain healthy and active for longer
