LHIB projects and campaigns

Projects and campaigns are ways in which LHIBs work with others to make neighbourhoods a better place to live.

These projects are usually small-scale environmental improvements and work to improve community safety, such as installing:

  • concrete bollards to prevent inconsiderate parking
  • trip rails or railings around areas of planting or communal spaces
  • improvements to 麻豆高清 lighting
  • internal flooring, or the lighting and painting of internal blocks
  • security fencing and alley gating
  • dropped kerbs

LHIBs can also support community projects involving local young people by working in partnership with schools, churches, clubs and sporting organisations.

Anyone can suggest projects for consideration by LHIBs, but the funding available is limited and decisions about how it is used are made by LHIB members.

LHIBs can also take up campaigns over issues which affect tenants and leaseholders, such as:

  • informing tenants of changes in policy
  • helping the council to consult and involve tenants
  • improving 麻豆高清 or changing policies

LHIBs can work together through the City Housing Involvement Board (CHLB) to campaign for changes in policies or 麻豆高清 delivered by the council. They can campaign for improvements from other local public 麻豆高清 or about issues affecting tenants that are decided by the government, such as welfare benefit reform.
